Super Tuesday begins

At
12 noon today, OFL Superbowl fans were treated to unprecedented hype as the
7-hour pregame show kicked-off. Most of the hype consisted of a poorly-worded
"news story" on the OFL website but nevertheless, fans were already complaining
about too much hype.
"I mean, COME ON", said long-time OFL fan Saul Raboniwitz. "I can't
even peruse the OFL website in peace without getting lambasted with all the
Superbowl crap!"
Tonight's 10pm game is the culmination of a season of ups and downs
for 10 point underdog BGP. BGP was widely expected to miss the playoffs
after an embarassing 0-2 start. But now, several wins later, BGP entered
the playoffs as the hottest team in the OFL.
Even Tom Szczerbowski, overly sensitive IP Stack wideout, was overheard admitting that BGP was quite "warm".
Tonight's Superbowl contest was expected to be a tight affair with IP
stack's efficient offence going up against BGP's stingy defence. Unfortunately
for BGP, rumours are swirling around the health of BGP's starters. BGP star
Greg Bertin is expected to sit out the big game. Starting QB Mike Ciancibello
and foreigner-of-the-year Rob Hutchinson are said to be racked by a severe
case of the flu. Both are questionable for tonight's game.
Deion Sanders was reportedly in talks with BGP about coming in for a
playoff run but after he learned that the OFL had a "no fruity clothing"
policy, he quickly backed out.
On the other side of the ball is the impressive IP stack which, on paper, looks unbeatable. Tom Szczerbowski
led the league with a suspiciously large number of TD catches. Rookie-of-the-year
contender Kirk Ireland pulled in an enormous number of catches to give Tom
a good scare.
IP stack QB Paul McRae
is widely expected to use the "substitution" rule to get his lumbering ass
off the field for anything that doesn't have him sitting in the pocket and
throwing touchdowns.
Large questions loom over the outcome of tonight's game. Will IP stack's
offence collapse in a squabbling feud over who gets to catch the ball? Will
Paul Bertels remain with IP Stack for the big game or return to his BGP roots?
Will BGP's veterans manage to hold a relatively young team together? And
will McRae be forced to run from the terrifying BGP pass-rush?
Whoever gets the safety tonight may very well decide who gets the victory
and whether or not BGP will take home the Vince Lombardi trophy one more
time. Already, the whispering around Ottawa has begun. One word: "dynasty".
