I know I probably shouldn’t have 2 Players of the Week, but I can’t ignore the performance put on by Geno Smith of West Virginia this week. Going in as heavy favorites against Baylor, the Mountaineers found themselves in a real barn burner. TD’s proliferated like the falling leaves of autumn as each team executed big play after big play.

Eventually, WVU escaped with a 70-63 victory. In the game, Smith completed 45 of 51 passes for 8 (yes, eight!) touchdowns. These crazy videogame-like numbers have now put Geno front and center in the Heisman Trophy race.
