[1/72] Airfix BAE Hawk Red Arrows
The BAE (formerly Hawker Siddeley) Hawk is the current aircraft for the RAF Red Arrows Aerobatic Team, replacing the Folland Gnat. You can read more about the Hawk here.
The is the Airfix “Starter” kit that comes with some glue and paint. I didn’t realize that this kit was going to be this simple! I decided to build it with the gear up and take advantage of the little stand that was provided.
Fit was excellent, of course, there weren’t too many parts to have a problem with. I filled some of the seams with putty.
Canopy is masked! I had to mask it, paint the middle bar white, then mask the middle bar for the rest of the paint job. The white bar did not turn out as well as I had hoped. I might have put too much paint on at one time.
First coat!
Time for decals! Another coat of Future after the decal application and we are calling this one done!
